This is a review on cobra venom cytotoxin, what has been discovered and understood so far.

Cytotoxin, not only the direct lytic effects but also involved different cell death mechanisms.

Some highlights of this article:

• Membrane interaction with cytotoxin

• Extrinsic and Intrinsic apoptosis induced by cytotoxin

• Lysosomal-mediated necrosis is observed. In some circumstances, necroptosis occurs as well where this transition of cell death is concentration-dependent.
