Our work on alteration of cellular secretome by cytotoxin has been recently published in International Journal of Biological Macromolecules.

Cytotoxin does more than just membrane permeabilization. It causes intracellular proteome changes before membrane permeabilization.

Some highlights of this article:

  • Cytotoxin promotes membrane permeabilization in concentration-dependent manner.

  • A notable release of intracellular proteins into extracellular microenvironment following membrane permeabilization.

  • There is alteration of intracellular proteomes before membrane permeabilization.

  • Cytotoxin causes metabolites deprivation and stress-induced necroptosis.
